Mount Solitary in Autumn, Katoomba Blue Mountains

I nearly piked on this hike… because I thought I’d stay warm and read a book or paint at home instead, but on the trek to Mt Solitary, I soon felt that elation I always do and remembered why I do this at all.

Why, also, it would have been crazy for me to have stayed at home and passed up this opportunity to literally feel as if I am standing on top of the world – meanwhile walking out anything that had been stuck in my head from a busy few weeks at work attempting to manage an IT upgrade and office move of two organisations into one!

I always make a note to myself that this feeling, this view, this heaven on earth, the challenge of doing it, the people, the discomfort, the elation…

It’s a dream to see the endless beauties of the Blue Mountains and to keep fit.

We often receive wisdom from our elders about making the most of life, but I’ve made a note to write from my young self to my older self about keeping it real and keeping this alive all my days.

I am grateful beyond measure for all of this.

I’ll leave the photos to do the rest of the talking, while I muster the courage to write more about my adventures soon.

With love & light,
Julie

“hold still. stay there. tease back the layers. you are in the space between your comfort zone and infinity. you want to hide. not be seen. not be open. not be vulnerable. but you have to. there are two ways to do this – soft and gentle or fast and hard. both will get you to the other side, if you let them.”

a mindset, mentality, desire, belief,
emotion, habit, behavior or vibration,
that no longer serves them.”
