I recently got a call from the Hornsby Advocate, which perked my spirits!
Following on from my recent post Beautiful Ties and Bittersweet Memories, it was at the time I was preparing for my grandfather’s funeral when I was asked to speak to the Hornsby Advocate about why I love where I live… and in a subtle and implicit way, I felt it reinforced the power of his legacy – as a nature lover and bush man! – as well as the torch we must carry in his honour.
It is an honour to continue living having known my Pa, and my hope is to honour his integrity and genuine character with the way I live my life.
So I hope this little feature was a nice read and made readers think about why they love where they live and what they value and why.
Thanks again to Hornsby Advocate for the feature.

– Vincent Van GoghOn Sunday 4 November, 8 of us including our wonderful clients at Freeman’s Fitness (my husband’s fitness studio) headed to Mount Solitary Katoomba for another epic hike in the heat! It was such a beautiful day and I am still feeling the afterglow of hiking with them on Sunday.
It is such a pleasure to explore Australia – the North Shore of Sydney and the stunning Blue Mountains in particular – and I am grateful to have been born into this area with an intrinsic love for nature, so that I can get out, explore, and stay fit, while enjoying what the world has for us.

If you’re in the area, our next hike is from Wahroonga to Bobbin Head, with a very leisurely coffee break in between stops!
